Knowledge is one of the most attractive things we can have.
Sometimes knowledge comes in the form of what we know, other times in the form of things we can do and skills we have.
We live in a world where it’s become more necessary than ever to have eclectic knowledge and diverse skillsets.
Men are running out of ways to feel special
It’s not enough that we make money or have status, because women today already have these things.
We have to work a little harder to be interesting
We cannot afford NOT to be a Renaissance man or woman with a variety of skillsets, art forms and knowledge bases.
Knowledge and skill is a good look on anyone – as is curiosity which inevitably leads us to these things.
And attraction is sustained for longer periods of time when you’re able to keep surprising your partner.
Challenge:
Go and learn about or study something that you have no real need for. Just do something new.
When you’ve decided, leave a comment about the thing you’ve picked. Then come back and leave another at the end of the week to let me know how you’ve gotten on! Do you feel more interesting? Do you have a story because of it?
Be sure to let me know as you’ll be giving me ideas for what I can go on to do next myself!

Well, I´ve living around the world because of that idea. I love learning and I love to see how other people do things or think depending of the culture they have grew up. And that´s why, even though I´m young, I can feel very satisfied because I have gone where my curosity has led me. These are the reasons why I agree 100% this sunday´s topic. But I have to say that I don´t find that every body thinks that´s attractive. A lot of men and women have the need of feeling superior or admired and don´t enjoy the fun of learning each other. Don´t you think?
Anyway, answering to the final question: I have learn as a result of this video that there are much more people out there that finds knowledge attractive. And that I want to know what the hell did you say in chinese.
P.S: The thing I´m gonna lear will be more about astronomy and stars.
Hi, I really enjoy your blog, it always makes me smile! What you say really makes sense… Your last video reminded me of a guy I used to like who was (I his early 30’s but was) really knowledgable about the 2nd world war… Never though that that was turn on but it was the way his eyes lit up when he was talking about it.
By the way I just went on to your man myth website and I couldn’t find you booking button:-( thought you’d want to know).
You are so cute and funny, Matthew! I’ve learned that I want to pursue more knowledge in investing, and retirement planning…I have 35 years until retirement, but the skills I learn now can help me live a much better life then, plus, as u said in the video, would be an excellent conversation piece! (I used it 3 wks ago while meeting someone as I was having a drink at a local lounge). Thanks for all the advice; it is very much welcomed and will be applied to my life!
Wo ye hui shuo han yu! But less than 20%..
Knoledge is a great tip, also having some kind of hobby is crucial in my opinion..
It’s my first time on this blog. I think this video is great. I was thinking about same thing a couple of days ago and I started learning more about body language and seeing this video gave me more ideas, like learning Italian and make my English better. By the way, I’m from Montenegro, so maybe you can find somethig out about my country. :)
I’ve recently also been doing a little self motivating to do something new everyday. Yesterday I made a salad with baby spinach which I’ve never tried before and it was wonderful (and I used to hate salads-felt like rabbit food). I feel good about myself and it feels great to eat good food.
Instead of podcasts, I do the old fashioned reading. Feels nice to hold a physical book every now and then.
you ve really given me the courage to be myself again….. i ve always been curious and eager to learn but…. i got discouraged and refused to be myself… bcs of the insecurities of various men in my life. my belief was that men do not want us to be more knowledgeable or intelligent than they are… i dont like to attract too much attention…so i let them speak and at times endure what they have to say…even when i have a different view on matters…
In my experience, even though knowledge might be sexy, it is definitely also perceived as scary. Any advice for knowledgable, skilled women on how to be able to show that side of yourself without sending men running because they feel emasculated around you?
Knowledge is sexy? Wow! I never knew. No, seriously. I’m a liberal arts nerd, dancer. artist, traveler–all related– and I’ve always been reserved about sharing my knowledge cause I haven’t always gotten the sweetish response from peeps. Americans, of my generation, anyway, seemed to value being dumb. Except when I do . . . which seems to be often these days.
Gracias for the insight. Maybe I’ll talk story more often . . .
Hi Matthew. I’ve recently been starting to watch your videos, and they have been very informative, and helpful.
I could use some advice. I’ve recently started a new endeavor in my lifes journey and it is a constant daily challenge for me in every area of my life. I could use some insight in these challenges. However, I am reluctant to share them on here.
So, would there be a possible inclination of you able to help me?
Good idea Matt! Well, last week I started to listen to country music (which for me is not a type of music I’m in touch. I dont live in the US and this singers dont sound on the radio) So I started to listen to it, liked it, started to look for other singers and to share the music in my facebook account. The result is: by the lyrics I’ve learnt a lot of the live style of country people (most lyrics have the same reference to the truck, lift kit, cruise control etc) and I made friends I have in FB start to like this music, just by sharing it.
Your idea is great and I’ll keep on doing things that enrich your life and because of that .. your conversation.
Hugs!
Watched and episode of Ancient Aliens on the History Channel and found out about the Antikythera mechanism which is considered the olders ancient analog computer. What’s so intereting about that you ask? Well maybe the fact that it was made around 100BC. Think this a good conversation topic.
THAT WAS AWESOME, YOU SPEAK CHINESE SO WELL :D
Hi Matt,
I love to learn new things but there are two side effects for me:
1-The more I learn the more people turn out to be boring …
2-Men love interesting woman but they fell insecure at the same time
Maybe I don’t know how to talk or demonstrate my new skills without sound snobbish.
Do you have any advise on that?
Hi Matt
I like and enjoy your videos and blog. Always happy to see a message from you on sundays.
As for things I am learning recently: I decided to paint my apartment all by myself for the first time (never painted by myself). Got to meet many nice and helpful people in the shop and learned a lot! It looks great now and I am sooo proud! Also trying to learn Italien to be able to speak in Italy during summer holidays.
Next project will be dancing.
Thanks again for sharing your ideas and thoughts.
Sonja
As a well educated woman who is continually reading and curious enough to improve my knowledge, I too feared that men would find it intimidating – and some did. But you’ve got to ask yourself, do you really want to be with a man like that? I’m currently dating someone who is equally curious and every time I tell him something he didn’t know he just says “Oh my god. Where have you been all my life. My mum always told me I needed to be with someone like you”
They are out there ladies x
I’ll try to learn more about anxiety and panic disorder.
I studied up on some colonial mysteries such as CROATOAN. Don’t know if that will ever come up, but oh well (:
Kaliknikta matt, mana mho re… :P :*
knowledge is sexy, wow, bravo is to sexy because I’ve learn how to speak greek and 20% can read.
This is genius, Matthew. I hadn’t ever thought about the challenge for men in this way.
Are there subjects that you would recommend to me in keeping a man with a very high intellect engaged? He loves music and is really into me, but sometimes I feel like I’m grasping at things to talk about.
Thank you!
