Knowledge is one of the most attractive things we can have.
Sometimes knowledge comes in the form of what we know, other times in the form of things we can do and skills we have.
We live in a world where it’s become more necessary than ever to have eclectic knowledge and diverse skillsets.
Men are running out of ways to feel special
It’s not enough that we make money or have status, because women today already have these things.
We have to work a little harder to be interesting
We cannot afford NOT to be a Renaissance man or woman with a variety of skillsets, art forms and knowledge bases.
Knowledge and skill is a good look on anyone – as is curiosity which inevitably leads us to these things.
And attraction is sustained for longer periods of time when you’re able to keep surprising your partner.
Challenge:
Go and learn about or study something that you have no real need for. Just do something new.
When you’ve decided, leave a comment about the thing you’ve picked. Then come back and leave another at the end of the week to let me know how you’ve gotten on! Do you feel more interesting? Do you have a story because of it?
Be sure to let me know as you’ll be giving me ideas for what I can go on to do next myself!

Dear Matt,
Your videos are just fantastic!!!
I posted a comment earlier in the week.
Okay so today at work while I was busy welding some parts I got to thinking about your recent video about knowledge this also got me thinking about intelligence altogether, not just an individuals mental intelligence, but also emotional, sexual, and social intelligence.
How do these all correlate with everyday life? (That’s rhetorical) and does having a high intelligence in all these areas assist a person on how highly they view themselves and others???
Alright so this is what I’m going to look into, l’m sure this will take longer then a week…
BTW… I think your friends and loved ones are lucky to have someone like you in their lives, as all of us are.
All the very best to you!!!
Hi Matt,
I learnt today about honey bees. For instance, in their lifetime bees only produce one twelth of a teaspoon of honey, and bees have to be taught how to make it by other bees!
Still not sure why all the bees are disappearing/dying, still investigating!
First of all thank you for all ur videos they are very helpful, and i like them very much. And to answer this video i would say this I want to learn many things and maybe I am a little crazy to want to learn all this but this is my dream
I wanna learn
French, Italian, Spanish, Hebrew, and Chinese
I want to learn to fence
To sew dresses
Fly a plane
And so on I have many more :)
But so far I have started only sewing things out of this, it’s not really good knowledge but fun. Also I find that read magazines such as Natinal Geographic, Scientific American, and Smithsonian help a lot with random knowledge.
Also I have a very random and weirdish question. How can I make guys my own age like me. Because unfortunately I look way younger then I really am and men tend to not come up to me because I look very young. I am not complaining about looking young because its a good thing, but I am just wondering what can be done to get guys to realize I am older then I look.
I see why you are so interesting each time when i see your video:)
Matt,
What a joy it is that I accidentally stumbled upon your blog. After leaving an abusive marriage, your blog has helped me regain a sense of self, and more so, an appreciation and love of the person I am and will become. Thank you for your positive messages that are applicable beyond intimate relationships to every day life (because I am not looking for a relationship right now).
As a Master’s, soon to be PhD candidate in Environmental Engineering, I learn something new everyday, be it an interpersonal skill or new technical knowledge. But I also learn for fun too. Best recent conversation books have been “The Botany of Desire,” and “Unbroken.”

I am learning the basics of the harmonica with the goal of learning the intro to thunder road by Bruce springsteen.
Hey Matt. Im taking salsa lesson and Spanish lessons in my spare time. I agree with curiosity being sexy at times too. ;-)
hey Matt, you’re so brilliant this video is so good, there are many people who don’t appreciate knowledge but like you said, a relationship would be so boring without it. I’ve recently started bikram yoga which has put me In a great mindset and I’m learning so much more about how to work with your body and relax and lose weight without straining myself too much. I also recently went on holiday to England and to France (Brittany and Paris) to see family. I know live in Australia but I’m originally from England so it’s great to go back and see everyone. I had such an amazing time especially in Paris, it really inspired me to learn the French language as it is so beautiful and great and your video had inspired me to actually go ahead and learn the language so that when I do go back to Paris hopefully In two years time I will be able to speak the language and feel more involved in the beautiful city.
so thank you. you’re video has motivated me to learn something new. you’re great x
Thanks the nudge, Matt!
Took the opportunity to prepare my visit to an exposition at the Pinacothèque in Paris on Art Nouveau and read up on Alphonse Mucha, Rupert Carabin… Fascinating stuff that takes you into the first modern efforts in publicity, lithography and of course a bit of sexuality thrown into the mix. I’m sure the expo will be that much better for the preparation.
I can also vouch for the value of having good general culture. Had a fascinating conversation with a couple of German guys about some of the most amazing places on the planet. My personal favorite is Yellowstone Park. The conversation covered such topics as the contribution of bacteria to modern science, places the Native Americans hold sacred (Yellowstone was high on their list), volcanology, ecology…
Thanks, Matt. You are amazing.
This is so funny. I just now got around to checking my email and finding this video. What makes it funny is that for the last three days I have been spending hours in my local libraries picking books at random and learning new things. I don’t know exactly where the inspiration for this sudden thirst for knowledge came from, but it is wonderful to see someone encouraging people to do just that. I want to be a more well rounded person and this has help validate what I’ve been feeling lately. Thank you so much.
This was absolutely what I needed. I travelled Europe this summer. Btw this has been fantastic! But the one thing that was standing a little in my way was that I didn’t know most of the languages. Therefore, I start now to study the most common words in all the languages and maybe go a little further with one language that I enjoy the most.

Hey. I need some advice on something im confused about. I met this guy, and im in high school, and we met in band class. we got kinda close and we seemed to click, but he never really made a real move. Not even ask for my number. I tried everything for him to make the move, but he never did. And I don’t really know how to make the first move. And I’m kinda afraid to because I don’t know if he just wants to be friends or he’s too afraid to make the first move. I really don’t know what to do anymore and really need your help. So please help me in what to do. He seems like he likes me. But I don’t really know. I dont know if hes interested or not. He called me fat one day and it kinda hurt my feelings, and it kinda made me think, we’ll I guess he’s not attracted. I told my friends about what happened and they were awed and said that I wasn’t even a little bit fat, and say they don’t know what to do either. And it kinda kills my confidence cause it makes me think, I’m not even attractive enough for him to ask for my number? I just don’t know. Please help!

I have been very thirsty for knowledge about Enoch- Another thing I have been studying has been Hebrew and I have been really excited about my new plant Moringa which is an amazing super power plant with many uses and I had gone on an expedition to learn everything there was about this plant and how it has saved peoples lives in Africa even….I now know a lot about this plant that I am incorporating it in some new ideas that will actually help other people————thanks for insight Matt great videos…. Hello Matthew,
I completely agree with smart being sexy but I have trouble relaying that knowledge sometimes. When I tie a conversation back to something I’ve learned or some reference, sometimes the guy I’m talking to gets confused and can’t follow my train of thought. It’s probably a matter of Keep It Simple Stupid, but I’d like to know if there are any ways to catch early on, before the “sorry, what?” or tips for preventing confusion in the first place?
